PROJECT OBJECTIVES
1.     Better understand how technology is appropriated by the Cree community.
2.     Better understand how students perceive the role of technologies in education.
3.     Better understand the impact of technologies on academic perseverance and success in Cree students.
4.     Better understand how the community perceives the role of technologies in education.
5.     Better understand uses of technologies by students and educators in the Cree community.

1.     Administration of a paper questionnaire to all students and teachers at the James Bay Eeyou School in Chisasibi.

11:45  – 1:00 PM           Lunch with the school’s teacher and principal: discussion about the project
1:00 – 2:45 PM              Meeting with students (filmed as they take possession of their iPad, etc.)
                                           First training session with students (filmed as they discover how to use the iPad)
2:45 – 3:45 PM              Teacher training (only with Sukru), while students are exploring the iPad.
3:45 – 4:45 PM              Focus group with several teachers from the school to address technology use in education
 
Overnight stay at Chisasibi Hotel
 
Tuesday, March 24, 2015
9:30   – 10:30 AM         Second training session with students: how to use the iPad to learn (filmed…)
10:30 – 11:30 AM         Focus group with students to address technology use in education
noon  – 1:00 PM           Lunch with the school’s teacher and principal: discussion about the next steps
1:00  – 2:45 PM           Departure from CHISASIBI

"What do you think about technology survey" will be given away to students before iPads are introduced to them. 

This is still an ongoing project.
